4 ways to get more customers

Two men shaking hands doing business

Every business wants a steady stream of clients coming through the door. But how do you get them? Here are some activities your brand or business can try today.

Ask for reviews

Testimonials are a powerful way to gain trust and credibility. Reach out to recent customers and ask them to provide a comment on your product or service. (You could do this by email, or by designing a survey on a platform like Typeform). Then, share the positive reviews on your social media platform, in an email newsletter, or even in your email signature.

Note: Instead of copying and pasting the text of the review somewhere (like into a caption, or turning it into a graphic), take a screenshot of the review and simply use that. Don’t be concerned it doesn’t look professional: it’s actually the opposite, where the authenticity of this will shine through.

Ensure your website is looking good

If your website is looking a little tired, it may be time for a refresh. Consider updating your images (using Unsplash for beautiful, free pictures), create a new logo easily with Canva, or rewrite the text to make sure it’s up-to-date with what you offer. Don’t have a website yet? No worries – there are plenty of affordable and easy-to-use site builders that are perfect even if you don’t have any tech or design experience (Carrd is a good start).

Re-contact old customers

Go through your customer contacts on a regular basis. If it’s been 6-12 months without an interaction or purchase, reach out to them with a personal phone call or email with a special offer.

Boost your presence in your local community

Research shows 95% of people make most of their purchases within 15 minutes of where they live or work. This highlights the importance of proximity – if a business is close by, people are more likely to buy or use their products or services.

Capitalise on potential customers being in a ‘pro-purchasing’ mindset while being in their car (or using public transport) by considering roadside advertising. It’s affordable, can’t be turned off or swiped away, and has a high return on investment – for each $1 spent, it generates more than $6 back in product sales.

Local businesses are promoting their products and services at over 700 of our sites across Perth and Melbourne. Be one of them from just $59 per week by contacting our team on 1300 236 242 or by email.
